Terms & Conditions

Definitions

“Company” refers to SV Transportation.

“Customer” refers to any individual or business booking transport services.

“Vehicle” refers to any car, van, or other motor vehicle to be transported.

“Driver” refers to any authorised representative of the Company using trade plates.

Services Provided

The Company provides vehicle collection and delivery services using trade plates. This includes:

  • Dealer transfers

  • Auction collections

  • Fleet movements

  • Private vehicle transport

All services are subject to availability and acceptance.

Booking and Payment

  • All bookings must be confirmed in writing (email or online booking form).

  • Pricing is provided per job unless otherwise agreed.

Payment Terms:
SV Transportation will require payments on invoice for any confirmed bookings.

  • Late payments may result in suspension of services.

Customer Responsibilities

  • The Customer must ensure:

  • The Vehicle is roadworthy, safe, and legal to drive. The company reserves the right to abort any booked movements where the vehicle is found to be unroadworthy for driven movements.

  • The Vehicle has a valid MOT (where applicable)

  • Any known faults or issues are disclosed prior to collection

  • Failure to disclose issues may result in refusal of service or additional charges.

Condition of Vehicle

  • A basic condition report will be completed at collection and delivery

  • The Company is not responsible for pre-existing damage.

Liability

  • The Company will take reasonable care when transporting vehicles

  • The Company holds appropriate motor trade insurance; however:

Liability is limited to £100,000 per claim unless otherwise agreed

The Company is not liable for:

  • Mechanical or electrical failure during transit - The Customer will be liable for breakdown costs and waiting time in the event of a breakdown charged at £30+VAT per hour. 

  • Wear and tear

  • Delays caused by traffic, weather, or unforeseen events

All claims must be reported within 24 hours of delivery.

Insurance

  • Vehicles are driven under trade plate insurance where applicable

  • Additional insurance cover can be arranged upon request at extra cost

Delays and Cancellations

  • Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed

  • The Company is not liable for delays outside its control

Cancellations:

  • More than 48 hours’ notice: No charge

  • Less than 48 hours’ notice: Full charge will apply

Access and Collection

  • The Customer must ensure safe and legal access for collection/delivery

  • If a vehicle cannot be collected due to access issues, the Company reserve the right to abort the movement.

Use of Trade Plates

  • All vehicles transported under trade plates must comply with UK regulations

Prohibited Vehicles

The Company reserves the right to refuse:

  • Unroadworthy vehicles

  • Vehicles with serious mechanical faults

  • Vehicles involved in illegal activity

Data Protection

Customer data will be handled in accordance with UK GDPR and will not be shared with third parties without consent, except where required by law.

Force Majeure

The Company is not liable for failure or delay caused by events beyond its control, including:

  • Severe weather

  • Accidents

  • Road closures

  • Government restrictions

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

Amendments

The Company reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted on the website.
